Helpful tips for your bridal trial 👇🏼 ✨ Wear something light / white (or similar to your wedding dress) ✨ Come alone - this is the one that most brides don’t understand and of course you can bring someone with you but I always find it’s better to let your own opinion be the main opinion and sometimes having someone with you can sway you . ✨Choose your inspo from your makeup artists Instagram , Pinterest is fab but it’s so much easier if I know the products I’ve used in the past! ✨Have a photo saved of your day to day & also your usual glam makeup to show your MUA as it helps us get an idea of what your usual style is . ✨Everyone’s version of natural & glam are different , so think of the key things you’d like included (and not included) in your makeup as it really helps to be clued up on your vision. ✨Don’t be a people pleaser! This is a hard one as most of us struggle to be honest but it’s your face and your big day and all I want is for you to be happy with how you look! ✨If you have a favourite lipstick , or you love the way you do your own eyebrows - that’s absolutely fine by me. My finishing touches for bridal makeup are always the same 3 steps - Lips - Brides need to feel they can eat and drink throughout the morning , I usually do the brides makeup second to last, so they have time to have a bite to eat and a swig of Prosecco before they have their lipstick applied (they also receive a touch up kit from me which includes their lipstick) Body glow - this is ALWAYS applied after the dress , which may seem scary but I tuck a tissue into the neck line of the dress and finishing with a fixing spray so there’s no transfer! Body bronze/contour - I like to bronze around the collar bones and straight down the neck to the décolletage, this ensures the face and chest match as sometimes my brides are wearing lower cut dresses , it also photos beautifully! N E U T R A L M A K E U P This is exactly what I would class as dewy , neutral makeup . Neutral gets very confused with natural makeup , the key difference is the amount of makeup - natural makeup is less foundation , less eye makeup and usually little/no lashes , where neutral makeup is still soft/full glam but the tones of the makeup are less bright and therefor ideal for the bride that likes wearing makeup but doesn’t want anything too crazy . C H A R L I E 🤍 Beautiful before , beautiful after ! Charlie wanted natural, glowy makeup that felt like her everyday makeup but enhanced! Finished with this beautiful Rapunzel style braid by the fabulous @natashachanelhair . Location - @upwalthambarns Charlie had a last minute panic when a spot appeared the week of her wedding (much like lots of brides) and was worrying it would be visible - but I worked my magic and you cannot see it at all! 🪄 ✨Top tip for brides that get a spot the day before / day of their wedding✨ - Squeeze it!! I know that sounds so backwards and this doesn’t apply to all spots but if it’s a proper whitehead and it’s come up within 24-48 hours before your wedding , I recommend carefully squeezing it. Clean skin , tissues over your fingers and gently press down and upwards and stop when you see blood. Use some sort of acid to clean and close it back up (I use pixi glow tonic) and then leave it , don’t keep going at it . As an MUA , I find it much easier to cover a scabbed spot rather than a fresh spot .

G R A C E 🤍 Grace came to me for her bridal trial only a few weeks before her wedding & wanted a ‘natural smokey eye’ but was unsure if her eye shape would be able to pull it off - I assured her with a few tweaks , she could have the eye makeup she wanted that would suit her & give her eyes a real lift! ✨See my top tips for hooded eyes below!✨ ✨ MATTE - in my personal opinion , hooded / down turned eyes should have a matte finish to help conceal the hood. ✨ LASHES - individual fine lashes layered up can help create the effect that the eyes are more lifted on the outer edges. ✨ PLACEMENT - the placement of the eyeshadow is KEY 🔑 , placing your darkest colour about 2/3 across the eye and making sure it doesn’t go past the end of the lid will help the most with down-turned eyes! I have been a member of @kristinagasperasacademy for about a year now and have learnt soo much from their online tutorials , I would seriously recommend all MUA’s join - there’s so much we can all do to upskill ourselves! #makeupartistkit #hoodedeyes #hoodedeyesmakeup #westsussexmua #bridalmua

Lucie 🤍 So , funny story - Lucie was a bridesmaid for her friend @louiseannettesmith last summer & I’ll now be doing her bridal makeup in July 🤩 but not only that, Lucie has been my personal trainer for the last 3/4 months as we just ‘clicked’ with our nutrition & training stories when we first met ! Tuesday and Joshua had a winter wedding at @northbrookparkweddings and it was nice to see a different style of wedding to what I’m used to! Veils & Makeup A lot of brides often ask if the makeup will still be visible through a veil ? The answer if YES! (As long as you go for the right look) The subtler the makeup - the less you will see , by adding a touch more shimmer to the eyes or a pop of a brighter blush , everyone will be able to see how beautiful your makeup looks 🤍 Isla is the perfect example of this , we originally went for a matte bronze eye , but added shimmer at the last minute and it was definitely the right decision - how stunning does she look? ✨ I have so many amazing shots from the Potkins wedding that I can’t wait to share with you!
